The Debate

I watched the debate the other night between President Bush and Kerry. Bush looked much stronger and more forcefully in this debate. I missed the first debate but saw the highlights. I like the town hall set up when the average voter ask the question. I would love to see more debates with that set up. There is only one more debate but it is not a town hall set up.
I look forward to that debate. I have already made my choice but I feel it is very important to view all debates. Our Country's future is at stake. I am voting for Bush. He does not flip flop, Kerry's record does not support his campaign. I do feel we need to reach out more to our allies and not shut them out. We need a strong alliance. We need to fight the war on terrorism. We need lower taxes to have money in our pocket so we can spend on necessities. There are many other reasons. I do respect the other party.

I urge everyone to vote for their candidate.

Favorite places to visit

I have done some nice traveling through the late 90's to 2000.
A couple of favorite places to visit was the America's Southwest and the island of Aruba.

Southwest: The desert, the mountain scenery and the cultural of the southwest attracted me out here. Sunset is a perfect time in the southwest. The mountain turns, copper, lilac or purple. It is a great thing to witness. The desert has beauty as well. There are desert flowers, clay color sand and other more. Some people think it looks brown and ugly. You have to search a little more.

Aruba: Aruba is known for it's crystal blue waters, white sandy beaches, the middle is a desert island with cactus and good wind surfing on the one side. Aruba only gets an average of 20" of rain. The beaches are white and beautiful. The water is clear, perfect for snorkeling and diving. Visibility is good too as long as the winds are not too strong. Aruba is very windy. Great for windsurfing on the one side. The people are very friendly and speak 4 languages. Their hospitality industry is their number one industry. Aruba is worth a visit. #1 in my book. Remembering Hurricane Andrew

I was watching MSNBC's documentary of Hurricane Andrew. I was in the Florida Keys at that time. The lower keys were spared. Only problem, no power. That was a picnic compared to what the victims were going through in South Dade. Once we had power, did not have cable. I saw my first photos of the devastation. It was tough to see. Many areas I knew very well. Lives were torn. Lot's of frustration. The relief efforts were slow do to the overwhelming devastation. The toughest part was when a mother said she didn't have food for her babies. The reporter broke down in tears. That was the toughest part to watch but was the beginning of the turn. The reporter organized relief efforts for the community. He made a big difference along with many other hero's. It took years for South Dade to recover but they are strong today. Floridians must be very tired of the Hurricanes and watches. I no longer have to worry about storms but I do. I hate to see the state I lived for so many years suffer. May God watch over the friends and family of Florida, Bahamas and the Caribbean.

I know many of my blogs have been about Hurricanes. I do promise, there will be many other subjects. Hurricanes have been very active. That is the reason why my main subjects have been about hurricanes.
I plan to touch subjects such as My personal thoughts, Spiritual Thoughts, My Vacations and more. I will also post photographs as well. I love photography of beautiful destinations.

Take care and God Bless.

Stay tuned for more Journal entries.

Wow, another favorite team of mine wins

I was impressed that University of New Mexico beating Texas Tech.
Texas Tech is not as good as years past but it was impressive to see the Lobos beat a major program.

Go, Lobos!

Remembering 9/11

I remember September 11, 2001. I was driving to work, I heard on the radio that a plane hit the World Trade Center. I thought it was a very bad joke when I first heard it. The Air Personality who jokes allot was not joking at the time. When he said a 2nd plane it, and stated this is a tragic situation, I knew it was no joke. I ran into our employee cafeteria with everyone standing there. I could not believe what I saw on TV. Later, I heard a plane it the pentagon. I was dazed at that point. The entire day did not seem it was for real. It was one bad nightmare.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone effect by the Tragedy 3 years ago today.

Wow, FSU and Miami-strange finish

I watch most of the FSU and Miami game. Two of my favorite college teams. Miami is my favorite, not just because they won. I lived in South Florida for 12 years before moving out west.

Very sloppy game, it was 10-3 FSU on top. Miami turned the ball over, I thought the game was over. When I got home, I found out Miami had won in overtime.
I am happy Miami won, but FSU really blew it. I was listening to a Sports Talk Radio Station. Everyone said the game was very sloppy and FSU lost the game.

I sure hope both teams play better through out the season than they had done tonight or it's going to be a tough season.

Its kind of weird that Miami is in the ACC. But I like it.

Go Canes!

My thoughts are with the folks that have or maybe effected by Hurricane Ivan

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has or maybe effected by Hurricane Ivan. Granada, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Possibly Cuba and Florida again. Yikes, Florida has been through enough. We will have to wait and see where the storm heads.

Let's all keep them in our thoughts and prayers. Assist anyway we can.

Football season is here

I am sure glad that Football season is here. I love college football. Florida Hurricanes is my favorite team. Over the years they had some good teams. Only a couple of bad years. I am glad they cleaned up the program. I can not wait until Friday's game between Florida State and Miami. This year, it has more meaning. Miami is in the ACC this year. That means FSU and Miami are in the same conference. If you thought the rivalry was great in the past, you have not seen anything as of yet.

I enjoy the NFL, but College sports has more spirit. It is less about the players and more about the team and team spirit. NFL is all about themselves and money. College sports is about the team and the school.

I sure hope the BCS works out. Otherwise we need to find a better solution. I love the tradition of Bowl Games on New Years Day but I it seems there has been controversy around the National Championship game. Maybe they need to have the traditional Bowl games. With number 1 rank plays verses number 4 rank and number 2 rank plays number 3 rank. The winners plays for the National Championship a week later. I have heard many people state that idea. I have to agree.

Let me know what you think.

Bye Bye Hurricane Frances

Hurricane Frances sure caused some problems in Florida. I am glad to see it will soon be exiting the state. Now, everyone needs to keep their eyes on Ivan.
I sure hope this one does not hit Florida.
I know, I left Florida 3 years ago, but I sure hate to see Florida residents suffer.

My thoughts and prayers are with the residents of Florida .

To Florida residents: Read James 4:8. That verse in the Bible assist me through challenging situations.

Oh no not again

It appears Florida is about to deal with another Hurricane. Her name is Francis. It's not as strong as it was a couple days ago but it's large in size but still serious.
I lived in Florida the most of my life. It's hard to see the state were I lived most of my life suffer.
I now live in New Mexico where we do not see much in disasters which I am blessed.

My prayers go out to the Florida residents.

Yikes, not another storm out there

I see there is Hurricane Francis in the Atlantic. Days away if approaches the US.
Let's pray that this does not hit any land.
Everyone's been through enough.

My thoughts-Hurricane Charley

What a tough situation in Florida. Hurricane Charley with 145mph winds hit the shore line and went through the state. It has been very tough to see my former state suffer. I was raised in Central Florida and also lived several years in South Florida. There were many hard hit areas. One of the communities where I used to live,Wachula was hit hard. It is not even a coastal town but with 100mph plus winds it was too much for the area. Wachula's main industry is the citrus. The citrus was hit very hard to make matters worst. The people there didn't have much to begin with but now, the challenge is very tough. I saw one line, a photograph of the mobile home park were I used to live for a year and a half. It was devastated. It is very tough to see one of your former communities suffer.

I also remember when I went through Hurricane Georges in the Keys. I lost quite a bit from the storm. You feel helpless and confused. Lots of stress. You feel there is no way out. Overall, I personally felt very lucky dispute the losses. I focused on what I still have, not what I lost.

I also remember Hurricane Andrew. That storm was also devastating for our neighbors to the north. South Dade had some powerful challenges during the recovery process, but they are now stronger community.

As tough as it seems now, I know Florida will survive. They need lots of Love, prayers, assistance and support.
